- Find program PC208W which is a program that makes it possible for your PC to access Campbell Scientific dataloggers.
- You can create/download datalogger programs, monitor real-time data, retrieve stored data and generate simple reports
- A floating toolbar is designed to give you access to PC208W's special features
Beginners -
- Write a datalogger program beginning with Shortcut or Program
- Configure your communications link with Setup
- Contact and program each datalogger with Connect
- Collect data with Connect or Setup/Schedule or Stg Module
- Write data reports with Report or your own spread sheet program
- Optional to look at data and reports with View
Floating Toolbar
Program - You can use Edlog to create, document and edit custom datalogger programs.
- Topics are selected by clicking the mouse's left button or by pressing Tab key and then the Enter key
- Click on File/New (loads a template to create a new Edlog program) and select the type of datalogger
- Enter Execution Interval/ [seconds] (length of time in seconds between program executions) for Table 1
- Place cursor on blank line below the Execution Interval and click on the Edit/Insert Instruction (allowing an instruction to be selected from the list)
- Enter required instructions in a logical sequence
Setup - Allows you to configure a network of one or more dataloggers.
- Parameters must be entered here to instruct the PC on how to contact each datalogger)
- Construct your communications link using the editing buttons
- Add COM Ports - to your network
- Add Device - adds modems, dataloggers, and storage modules to your device map
- Add Task - adds executable files (*Note: earlier version task were called Batch Files)
- Delete - deletes task or highlighted device or COM Ports and all attachments
- Save Edits - saves changes made to Setup connections
- Cancel Edits - cancels changes made to Setup connections
- Configure for each Com Port, device, or Task the settings under the Hardware Tab
- Note: The parameters that are entered or displayed depends on the highlighted Com Port, device, or Batch Command File
- Configure (for each datalogger) the settings under the Data Collection Tab.
- Note: Only dataloggers and storage modules have settings listed here
Connect - provides you with tools to for necessary manual operations between your datalogger and PC.
- You can also display and graph real time data (input location data)
- Connect has three tabs to look under:
- Tools - download datalogger programs, set datalogger clock, etc.
- Numerical Display- displays real time data (input location data)
- Terminal Emulator- handy for experienced users
Status - table that describes communications between datalogger and computer. Table provides the following columns
- Station (default) or Network (optional) Map
- On-line- status of communications link between dataloggers and PC
- Error Rate- larger the number, poorer the communications link
- Last Collection Attempt- last time PC collected data from this station
- Collected- statistics on your PC data called operation
- Next Call- next time your PC will try to call a particular datalogger station
Reports - You can generate reports and manipulate data files with Split.
- The underlined topics are selected by clicking the mouse's left button or by pressing the Tab key and the Enter key
- Split keys - The menu bar appears at the top of the Split screen and contains these options
